Blog Post # 3 It’s all in the Details!

What is your signature? What is it that special moment that will create a lasting impact on your guests? Besides the stunning photos of the bride and groom, of course, the design choices you make will forever be captured in your memories and in your photos. It’s all in the details!

There are so many opportunities to create special moments, moments that will not be forgotten and will create that lasting impression. As you consider your dream wedding, consider that your “signature” design aesthetic should be reflected throughout the entire venue. Colors, florals, wood farm tables vs. white linen tablecloths, formal vs. informal, and so much more, all play an important part.

As coordinators, styling your reception space can have the biggest impact. Yes, you may have made the design choices. However, we have the privilege of seeing it all come together the day of. We place the tablecloths, we fold the napkins, we place each plate, each goblet, each utensil in its perfect spot. We place the florals, add the candles, making sure they are lit at just the right time. We turn the table numbers in the right direction so they are easy to find. We get to see your vision come to life. And when you need help making those design decisions, we are also there to help you with inspiration ideas and design choices.

So what are some inspiration ideas to help make your tables stand out?

  1. Napkins complete a table setting as much as florals do. And yet, they are often a last fleeting thought when planning your table. If your florals set the mood, consider that your napkins should also have a large impact on the finished look. They add texture, dimension and color to your place settings. You might consider velvet in the middle of summer to add a layer of luxury.

  2. Your flatware can ground your place settings and can turn an otherwise casual table into a stunning, eye-catching space. You might consider gold or black for a more modern look. Or you might consider real silver or silver plated flatware for a timeless, yet opulent look. At Jacqueline & Co, we have collected real silver and silver plated flatware and have used it to elevate the tablescapes of many of our weddings. Watching the light from the candles flicker off the silver is gorgeous.

  3. Your drinkware can also make a statement. They add height to a place setting and when filled with water, there is a certain dance that happens between the crystal, the water, the flicker of candles and the silver. One goblet is sufficient, but why not make a statement with two? One for water and one for toasting the honored couple. At Jacqueline & Co we also have collected vintage crystal goblets in two different sizes that are available for our couples to use.

  4. The finishing touches or the main star of your table, you might say, are the florals. However simple or grand, your florals should be a representation of yourselves and what your dream wedding is all about. There is no doubt that flowers can be expensive. Work with your florist to find that sweet spot in your budget that will allow you to spend what you can without sacrificing what you want. Try bud vases with simple stems if full bouquets of the same flowers are out of your budget. Adding crystal or wood candlesticks can help fill in empty spaces while giving off a soft glow in the evening light.

At Jacqueline & Co we love working together with our couples to plan their perfect wedding. We are always up for a challenge and we can’t wait to see the beautiful results of our hard work.
